Sheila Gunston

Sheila Gunston Dip. CBST, PCBC-A is the sole owner and operator of Hudson’s Hounds (2013). She is a Canadian from Central Alberta, currently living in the province of Chiriqui, Panama. Sheila is a Professional Canine Behavior Consultant and has a diploma in Canine Behavior Science and Technology with an Aggressive Behavior Specialization through Companion Animal Sciences Institute. She is also a certified L.E.G.S. Applied Ethology Family Dog Mediator and a Doggone Safe “Be A Tree” presenter. Sheila’s passion is in complex behavior and she is constantly furthering her science based education to ensure that she has only the most current and safest information available for her clients, most of whom are struggling with dogs who are anxious, fearful, reactive or aggressive. She has owned her own reactive and aggressive dogs herself and has been given very dangerous advice in the past – this is what encouraged her to receive a proper education in behavior and help others to never go down the road that she did. She met Cat in the spring of 2013 where she entered into a 2yr Apprenticeship Program and learned that she did not, in fact, know everything there was to know about dogs. Cat carefully and gently showed her how the canine mind and body work and why it works the way that it does, always allowing her to feel safe while learning a whole new way of thinking when it came to DOG. It was Cat who lit the fire to want her to always strive to be better and to never stop learning. Sheila offers private behavior consultations online via Zoom and also teaches basic manners and puppy classes in Panama. She lives in Panama with her husband and 2 dogs, always learning something new about them with each new changing day.
